Goals & Projects
Gulf Shores Garden Club members strive to stimulate the knowledge, and love of gardening and horticulture among the membership and the local community. The study and appreciation of flowers, flower arranging, native plants, and the preservation of the environment, guide the projects and programs of the organization. The Gulf Shores Garden Club is committed to civic beautification projects and environmental programs.
Members participate in the following activities, and others are added as needed:
Alabama Coastal Clean-Up
Gulf Shores Holiday Celebration Event
Deliver poinsettias to seniors in the community
Participate in Veterans Appreciation
Arbor Day, Gulf Shores Location
Host Floral Seminar in the Winter
Projects sponsored and/or maintained by the club membership include:
Butterfly and Pollinator Gardens in local schools
Seed swap at Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo
Volunteer assistance at Swift-Coles Historical Home, Bon Secour
Monetary donations to civic projects (proceeds from the annual floral seminar) include:
Donation to Gulf Shores High School—The Environmental Academy
Sponsor Annual College Scholarship Award (2 scholarships at $2,000 each) to Gulf
Shores High School Student Planning to Study in an Environmental or Horticulture-related Area
Donation to Share the Beach Program
Requests from Within the Gulf Shores Community Related to Our Purpose (As Needed)
